Kindergarten Teachers
This is a picture of the kindergarten teachers.
Mrs. Brenner:
Mrs. Brenner is delighted to be back at Mays Chapel and in her home state of Maryland after her move to Oregon in 2015. In 2009, Mrs. Brenner earned her Bachelor's Degree from Salisbury University in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and has been teaching first grade since. She is excited to be a grade changer as a Kindergarten teacher this year. Mrs. Brenner had a wonderful intern experience in a Kindergarten classroom and is eager to use what she learned there, as well as her experience teaching first grade for many years to create a positive, successful and fun year with her Kinders! Mrs. Brenner is pursuing her Master’s Degree at Loyola University. In her spare time, Mrs. Brenner enjoys trail running, stand-up paddle boarding, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. England:

Mrs. England is delighted to be teaching kindergarten at Mays Chapel Elementary School since year one in 2014. She graduated from the University of Maryland at Baltimore County with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a certification in early childhood education. Mrs. England also completed her master’s with an emphasis in reading and technology. She began her full-time teaching career at Arbutus Elementary School in 1998, where she taught first grade for 13 years and kindergarten for 3 years. Mrs. England lives in PA with her husband and yellow Labrador retriever. Her daughter is a full-time student at the University of Florida. When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading, drawing, volunteering, and shopping for the classroom. Mrs. England always looks forward to getting to know her students and families, and she is very excited to be a part of this incredible team!
Mrs. Maietta:

At age 9, Mrs. Maietta wanted to be a teacher because she liked writing on the chalkboard. Her reasons to go into education evolved and eventually led to her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware, immediately followed by a Masters in Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey. Originally from South Jersey, Mrs. Maietta began her teaching career in 2007 for Prince George’s County Public Schools, teaching 1st and 2nd grades before coming to Baltimore County in 2012. Before coming to Mays Chapel in 2016, she spent 4 years teaching at Edmondson Heights Elementary, 1 year in reading reduction and 3 years in Kindergarten. When not teaching, Mrs. Maietta enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter and trying to get back into running. She loves being part of Team Mays! (If you were wondering how to pronounce her name it’s My-etta.)

Ms. Shramko:

Ms. Shramko is ecstatic to be a member of the Kindergarten team at Mays Chapel! She is a graduate of Stevenson University where she majored in Early Childhood education. Ms. Shramko completed her senior year internship with Mrs. Puopolo at Mays Chapel, and finished the 2017-2018 school year as the Kindergarten assistant. Ms. Shramko has always dreamed of being a teacher, and is glad to have discovered her passion for learning and teaching. She looks forward to creating a strong and supportive environment for her students to grow and learn in, as she and her students begin the new school year together!

Mrs. Smith:

Mrs. Smith has been a classroom teacher in the Baltimore County School System since 1999. Patti received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She also received her Master’s in Education through Walden University, specializing in Reading. Patti taught both first grade and kindergarten at Berkshire Elementary School before becoming a part of the Mays Chapel family when it opened in 2014. When she is not teaching, Patti enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, Will and Joey. Her favorite activities include watching her boys play ball, reading, and cheering on the Ravens and Orioles!
