Ms. Bilich

Ms. Bilich is a graduate from Stevenson University
with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. She received this
degree in Spring 2023 after completing her internship at MCES. Outside of
school, Ms. Bilich enjoys taking walks, crafting, and spending time with her
friends and family. She also enjoys painting and is a big fan of the Baltimore
Ravens, her favorite football team! Ms. Bilich hopes to empower her students in
the world of learning. Her goal as an educator is to help her students recognize
their own brilliance and the many strengths they hold. She is honored to be
part of the Mays Chapel family and is looking forward to a fabulous year!
Mr. Figlewski

Mr. Fig is excited to start a new year at Mays Chapel, where he has taught second grade for several years now. He previously worked for nine years at a Title One school in Dundalk, teaching 1st and 3rd grades and was a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Resource teacher for students in Kindergarten through Third Grade. Mr. Fig graduated from CCBC with an Associates in Teaching, Towson University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education, and from UMBC with a Masters of Education with a STEM endorsement. Mr. Fig lives with his wife, two boys, and pet tortoise, Waffles. He was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Venture Scout and earned his Eagle Scout award. He also practiced Martial Arts for over 20 years, earning a Second Degree Black Belt. Some of his favorite things include Marvel and Star Wars, computer games, coffee, playing with his boys, and spending time outdoors.
Mrs. Haught

Mrs. Haught is overjoyed to be a part of the 2nd grade team at Mays Chapel. She received her Elementary Education degree from Towson University and her Master's degree in Reading Education at Towson University as well. This is Mrs. Haught's 9th year teaching in Baltimore County, where she has taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. Mrs. Haught loves and lives in Baltimore City with her dog Welly. Mrs. Haught's passion is being an educator and also enjoys reading, hiking, and staying active. Mrs. Haught believes in "leading with love" as a teacher and is looking forward to creating relationships with her new students and families this year at Mays Chapel!
Ms. Sergi

Ms. Sergi is excited to join the second grade team! She grew up attending BCPS schools from pre-K to 12th grade. She received an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Salisbury University and a Masters Degree from Goucher College. Ms. Sergi joined BCPS in 2016. Before coming to Mays, Ms. Sergi taught 1st and 2nd grades at Glenmar Elementary. She is a big Ravens and Orioles fan and loves cheering them on. Outside of school, Ms. Sergi loves spending time with friends and family, spending summers at the beach, reading, exercising, and playing with her goldendoodle, Goose!
Mr. Burke

Mr. Burke is excited to begin his first year as a 2nd grade teacher at Mays Chapel Elementary! He graduated from Bowie State University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Before becoming a classroom teacher, Mr. Burke spent many years working in Baltimore County Public Schools as a paraeducator, supporting students with a wide range of learning needs in both general education and special education classrooms.
Outside of school, Mr. Burke enjoys spending time with his family, singing karaoke, relaxing in his backyard with an iced coffee while watching and listening to the birds, and traveling whenever he has the opportunity. Mr. Burke believes every child learns differently and deserves a classroom where they feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. He is excited to build strong relationships with his students and their families while making learning meaningful, engaging, and fun.
