Mrs. Jaeger

Mrs. Jaeger began her teaching career in 2009 with Baltimore County after graduating from Towson University with her degree in Elementary Education. Before joining Mays Chapel, Mrs. Jaeger taught at Shady Spring Elementary School, where she was a fifth grade classroom teacher for two years, and a third grade teacher for five years. When not at school, Mrs. Jaeger loves running and has ran several marathons, including the Boston Marathon. She also enjoys biking and spending time at the beach with family and friends. Mrs. Jaeger is eager to begin fostering a love for learning, reading, and collaborative research for students in the Mays Chapel library media center.

Computer Science and Innovation (CSI)

Mrs. Berkowitz

Mrs. Berkowitz teaches Computer Science and Innovation at MCES and has been teaching in BCPS since 2000. Mrs. Berkowitz has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Towson University and her M.E. in Science Instruction from Loyola College in MD. She has certifications in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Administration/Supervision. Before joining the Special Area Team as Mays Chapel, Mrs. Berkowitz taught fourth and fifth grades and worked as Resource Teacher and Instructional Coach at Shady Spring Elementary School. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, running marathons, hiking, and volunteering in her community.

Instrumental Music

Ms. Scholtes

Ms. Scholtes has been at Mays since 2021 and teaches 5th grade band and orchestra, 4th grade exploratory music, and a few vocal music classes! A clarinet player, Ms. Scholtes graduated with a B.S. in Music Education from Towson University in 2020. When not teaching, Ms. Scholtes enjoys pet-sitting around the neighborhood, cooking vegetarian food, and playing video games.

Physical Education

Mr. Loyd

Mr. Loyd has been a teacher in Baltimore County since 2004. His tenure of teaching started at Pikesville middle school where he taught 8th grade science.  After 2 years, he moved to Cedarmere elementary school where he served as the physical education teacher for the school for 8 years. His cooperative mindset and goals of lifelong fitness and wellness, shape his philosophies of Physical education.  Mr. Loyd’s education includes a bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University in Outdoor Education and his Master’s degree from Towson in Science Education. When Mr. Loyd is outside of the school building, he you will likely find him either rock climbing, swimming or most likely playing music.

Vocal Music

Mrs. Marsh

Mrs. Marsh is proud to be a founding teacher at Mays Chapel! Teaching Vocal Music since 2012, Mrs. Marsh strives to create a music classroom that is sequential, meaningful, joyful, and for everyone! Prior to teaching at Mays Chapel, Mrs. Marsh taught at Vincent Farm Elementary School in White Marsh. Mrs. Marsh is a proud BCPS Alumni and formal education includes a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Towson University, and a Master's Degree and Kodály Music Education Certificate from Loyola University, American Kodály Institute. Mrs. Marsh is also one of the directors of the annual Spring Musical at Mays Chapel! Drama Club is always one of her favorite activities at Mays.  When not at school, Mrs. Marsh is hanging out with her family and listening to musical soundtracks!

Mrs. O’Reilly

Mrs. O'Reilly began her teaching career with Baltimore county 23 years ago. Prior to teaching art in Baltimore county, Mrs. O'Reilly lived and worked in Dublin, Ireland. She received a Bachelor of Art from McDaniel College in 2000 and a master's in educational leadership from Towson University in 2021.   She is an advocate of arts integration and believes that seamlessly weaving art within the core subject areas enhances creativity, nourishes critical thinking and motivates the students to take risks. Outside of the classroom Mrs. O'Reilly enjoys making jewelry, reading, being outside and most importantly, spending time with her family, including her husband and two very active teenage boys.

This is Mrs. Mim Oncharoen.  I’m excited to join Mays Chapel family.  I have been teaching art for 18 years.  I graduated from Towson University in Fine Art.  After some time with my family, I went back for classes in art education and later received a Masters of Art in Art Education.  I love all things art.
