Mr. Coco has proudly served the Baltimore County Public School community for nearly 20 years and has always appreciated the opportunity to learn as he serves.  Modeling lifelong learning and valuing the input of others have been the cornerstone of his educational philosophy.  His career has allowed him to gain a diverse background of experiences prior to beginning his journey with the Mays Chapel community in 2013.  He began his career as a fourth grade teacher in 1995 at Sparks Elementary School in the Central region of Baltimore County, followed by the opportunity to open Westchester Elementary School in Catonsville in its inaugural year as a classroom teacher in 1998.  Next, Mr. Coco’s career provided him the chance to serve children and families in the classroom at Church Lane Elementary School in the Northwest region of Baltimore County.  In 2001-2002, Mr. Coco served as a teacher mentor working in 10 elementary schools across Baltimore County.  Since then, he has served 3 schools in an administrative capacity including Hernwood Elementary and Bedford Elementary as an assistant principal and most recently 6 years as principal of Cedarmere Elementary.  All three schools are in the Northwest region of Baltimore County.  Mr. Coco’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Frostburg State University, Maryland Teacher Certification from Goucher College, and a Master of Science in Human Resource Development with a focus in School Leadership from Towson University.  Outside of his passion for teaching and learning, Mr. Coco enjoys quality time with his family, including his wife, three daughters, and Labrador retriever.   When not in school, his personal interests also include most outdoor related activities with a particular affinity to anything related to water.
