Creating a Personalized Learning Environment for All
Our Vision
Mays Chapel Elementary School is committed to developing and empowering students to become lifelong learners. Our learning environment is sustained by a safe, supportive, and collaborative culture. Our student-centered community is rooted in the principle that every individual will grow through engaging, real-life experiences to become successful citizens who thrive in a globally competitive world.
About Us
Mays Chapel Elementary is located in the Mays Chapel community at 12250 Roundwood Road, Timonium, MD, 21093. Teachers, staff, and a highly engaged PTO, actively greet students and families from the central York Road corridor. With more than 700 available seats we are home of the Labradors. Our school is part of the larger Baltimore County public school system. Proudly part of Team BCPS, Mays Chapel is one of Baltimore County's newest elementary schools, opening its doors to students for the first time on August 27, 2014. Our dynamic staff and new, state-of-the-art facility, are equipped to meet students' needs through a customized and personalized approach to learning.
Mays Chapel Elementary has lead the way in transforming the teaching and learning environment through a systemic initiative known as STAT (Teachers and Students Accessing Tomorrow). Through our Theory of Action, we have been able to leverage technology and purposeful 21st century skills to create an equitable learning environment where all students succeed.
With meaningful relationships at the core of our work, we engage our students in a rigorous academic setting that that provides the foundation for being thoughtful citizens and globally competitive graduates. Our professional staff, in partnership with our PTO and the larger school community, foster purposeful learning inside the classroom and through a variety of before and after-school clubs, activities, and school-based events.
